A COMPARATIVE STUDY ON TEACHING READING COMPREHENSION at Eleventh Grade of SMK Wijaya Kusuma Surakarta in 2020/2021 Academic Year
The objectives of the study were to describe the process of teaching
reading comprehension and the problems in teaching reading comprehension at
SMK Wijaya Kusuma Surakarta before and during pandemic covid-19 in
2020/2021 Academic Year.
The method used in this research was a qualitative descriptive study. The
research was conducted from July until November 2020. The subject of the
research was the English teacher of eleventh grades and the students of XI-C in
SMK Wijaya Kusuma Surakarta in 2020/2021 Academic Year. In collecting data,
the researcher used questionnaire and interview. The questionnaires were given to
the English teacher and the students of XI-C SMK Wijaya Kusuma Surakarta. The
students of XI-C consisted of 20 students. Meanwhile, to support the data the
researcher also interviewed the English teacher of SMK Wijaya Kusuma
Surakarta. To analyzed data, the researcher used qualitative data analysis.
