The objectives of this research are: 1) To find out whether the
method used by the teacher to teach reading in online learning. 2) To find
out whether the media used by the teacher to teach reading in online
learning. 3) To find out whether the problems faced by the teacher and the
students in online learning. 4) To find out whether the strategy used by the
teacher to teach reading in online learning.
This research was conducted at the eighth grade students and the
English teacher of SMP N 18 Surakarta in the Academic year of
2019/2020. The researcher used Descriptive Qualitative Reasearch to
describe the teaching reading in online learning at the eighth grade of SMP
N 18 Surakarta especially 8E. In this class consist of 30 Students. To
collect the data, the researcher give the questionnaire to the students by
Googleform, interview the studentts and the teacher. To analyze the data
the researcher used qualitative data. The qualitative data consist of data
collection, dara reduction, data display and data verification.
