CORRELATION STUDY BETWEEN STUDENTS’ MOTIVATION AND VOCABULARY MASTERY AT THE TENTH GRADE STUDENTS OF SMA N 1 TANGEN KABUPATEN SRAGEN IN THE 2019/2020 ACADEMIC YEAR
The aims of this research to find out (1) the students’ motivation at the tenth
grade students of SMA N 1 Tangen Kabupaten Sragen in the 2019/2020 academic
year, (2) the vocabulary mastery at the tenth grade students of SMA N 1 Tangen
Kabupaten Sragen in the 2019/2020 academic year, (3) the significant correlation
between students’ motivation and vocabulary mastery at the tenth grade students of
SMA N 1 Tangen Kabupaten Sragen in the 2019/2020 academic year.
This research was conducted on Juni 2020. The researcher took 28 students
of SMA N 1 Tangen Kabupaten Sragen as the sample. The instruments of this
research were questionnaire and test. The population of this research was the tenth
grade students of SMA N 1 Tangen Kabupaten Sragen in the 2019/2020 academic
year. The sample is 28 students. The sampling that was used random sampling
technique. To collect the data of students’ motivation and vocabulary mastery, the
researcher used questionnaire and test. After collecting the data, the researcher
analyzing them in line with procedure of verifying the hypothesis. In analyzing the
data, the researcher used correlation formula technique namely the Pearson Product
Moment.”
